Being appointed to Membership of the order is an honour. Some of the basic requirements for eligibility are a comment to philanthropy and a willingness to dedicate personal time and resources. 

In the first instance please contact our membership team who will put you in touch with a local Commandry. Currently there are 3 Commanderies, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Living outside of these regions would not preclude membership or participation.
